![]() ![]() My favourite film of the genre is the Swades: We, The People. ![]() It’s also fitting because India is a vast country with a rich history that stories from it (valour of its people and in essence the country itself) lend themselves very well to the medium. These films are so popular that industries across languages religiously churn them out every year (two films of the genre have released this past week). Spread across genres are films like the Manoj Kumar and Dilip Kumar social commentary classic Kranti to the JP Dutta war epic Border and to the recent Meghna Gulzar spy thriller Raazi.
